Whimsical Vintage Shirazi Runner
2' 6" x 5'
Cheerful vintage runner hand-woven in the cultural hub of Shiraz. The Shiraz area has many tribal inhabitants whose designs have greatly influenced the styles of the weavers in this city. These pieces are stylish and greatly cherished by collectors around the world.
Comprised entirely of soft Persian wool, this rug is very plush and comfortable below your feet. With Shiraz's rich history in weaving, it is home to many types of artisans with various styles and techniques. This piece utilizes larger knots which gives it it's plush feel and simple design.
The styling of this rug is very reminiscent to the neighboring area of Abadeh. Like many Abadeh rugs it features a lovely red foreground and playful nature motifs. The color scheme of this rug is well balanced and its rich colors look incredible on wood floors. This design is versatile and can be incorporated with any decor.
Even though this rug is over 40 years of age, it has almost no sign of wear. Hand-knotted wool rugs are very durable, and this piece will last for decades to come.
This piece, like the rest of our collection, was hand-picked by Persian Rug expert and Shiraz native, Jason Dadras. Each piece was acquired through the relationships he forged around the world. Our rugs are ethically sourced and have been legally imported.
