Red Alcantara Three-Seater Togo Sofa with Arms by Ligne Roset, 2006

About the Item

Gorgeous three-seater red Alcantara Togo sofa designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset from 2006. Designer Michel Ducaroy drew inspiration for the Togo's design from an aluminum toothpaste tube noticing it “folded back on itself like a stovepipe and closed at both ends.” A quick sketch later and the Togo series was born. This is the largest size of Togo available. It used to be called ‘Sofa with arms” but has recently been rebranded as “Medium Sofa” by Ligne Roset. It is wider than the three-seat sofa. In very good condition. Some slight staining to fabric as seen in photographs which could easily be cleaned. More photographs available on request. Has original Ligne Roset label for authenticity. Marked 'JUIN 2006' for manufacture date. Can send additional photographs upon request. Designed in 1967 by the Florentine Radical group Archizoom, this was the first sofa without a conventional frame. It is composed of two waves made from a polyurethane block cut into two parts with an S—shaped incision, which can be interlocked and stacked to produce different configurations. The lightness and modular design permit a range of various uses: Superonda can be a sofa, a bed or a chaise longue. This sofa has been completely reupholstered in new leather effect matte PVC coated fabric and is in almost pristine condition. This is the original sofa produced by Poltronova (I have my purchase...
