About the Item

This is a rare and sought after vintage Polish film poster designed by the iconic Polish poster artist Wojciech Fangor. He designed this original 1956 movie poster for the 1953 French film "Les Compagnes de la nuit" (Poznane Noca) directed by Ralph Habib and starring Francoise Arnoul, Raymond Pellegrin and Nicole Maurey. Polish A1 size: 59 x 85.5 cm Condition: very good having been previously restored Posters from the Polish School of Posters were produced in a unique moment in history. After the Second World War, the Polish People’s Republic was placed under strict Soviet rule and suffered great repression and hardship. Yet from that sprang an explosion of creativity which lasted for decades.
