Georges Rouault is a french painter (Paris 1871-1958), born into a family of humble origins, his maternal grandfather gave him a love of art. At the École des Beaux-Arts, Rouault met Henri Matisse, Albert Marquet, Henri Manguin and Charles Camoin: these friendships brought him closer to the style of the Fauves.
