In this case an ordinary working Man, This alluring work in a 15 x 11 inches ( Unframed ) and 23 x 19 inches (framed) in Ink on paper is a signature work by the master artist Akbar Padamsee.
Face I : Potrait of a common man in chinese ink by ace Indian modernist Padma Bhushan Akbar Padamsee. In his typical signature style the master artist executes this lovey work in ink on paper. It is a typical work by the master that can add a lot of value to anybody’s collection.
Style : Akbar Padamsee is a contemporary Indian artist and painter, considered one of the pioneers in Modern Indian painting along with Raza, Souza and M.F. Hussain. Over the years he has also worked with various mediums from oil painting, plastic emulsion, water colour, sculpture, printmaking, to computer graphics, and photography, as worked a film maker, sculptor, photographer, engraver, and lithographer. Pasamsee loved working with Chinese ink and incorporating it in the things he saw around . Today his paintings are among the most valued by modern Indian artists. His painting Reclining Nude was sold for USD 1,426,500 at Sotheby's in New York on 25 March 2011.

Born : 12 April 1928, Bombay.
Education : Padamsee was still a student at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai at the time when the Progressive Artists’ Group (PAG) announced itself on the Indian art scene in 1947. Historically, this is considered to be one of the most influential groups of modern artists to emerge in early post-independent India.

1953 and 1955 - He has participated exhibitions in Biennales – Venice.
1954 - His very first solo show was held at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.
1959 - Sao Paulo and Tokyo;
1967 - A solo exhibition of his paintings was held at the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art, Canada.
1980 - A retrospective of his work was organized by the Art Heritage Gallery, in Mumbai and New Delhi.
1981 - Museum of Modern Art, Oxford;
1982 - Royal Academy of Arts, London;
1985 - National des Arts Plastiques, Paris.
Award :
1962 - Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowship (Lalit Kala Ratna) by the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.
1965 - Fellowship by the J.D. Rockefeller IIIrd Fund.
1967 - Artist in Residence, Stout State University, Wisconsin

Akbar Padamsee
Akbar Padamsee was a contemporary Indian artist and painter, considered as one of the pioneers in Modern Indian painting along with Raza, Souza and M.F. Hussain. Over the years, he worked with various mediums such as oil painting, plastic emulsion, water color, sculpture, printmaking, computer graphics, and photography. Padamsee has also worked as a filmmaker, sculptor, photographer, engraver and lithographer. Padamsee loved working with Chinese ink and incorporating it in the things he saw around. Today, his paintings are among the most valued by modern Indian artists. He was born on 12th April 1928 in Mumbai. Padamsee was still a student at the Sir J.J.
