The artwork size is 19 x 24 inches, framed is 28.15 x 32.75 inches. Framed in a wooden black frame, with off white matting and gold color spacer. it is in very good condition.
About the artist:
Cecil Wray Goodchild (1901-1983) (San Luis Obispo/Glendale)
San Luis Obispo-born watercolorist who specialized in scenes of ranches and Morro Bay. Port. Goodchild is well known for his watercolor depicting harbor scenes.
He was born in San Luis Obispo. He spent five years at sea and in England. Mrs. Goodchild was born at sea on a British ship on the Calcutta, India line. She was a concert pianist, playing with symphony orchestras 10 years and with the Orpheum Circuit 20 years.
The artist said that when the natural history museum is established at Morro Bay, he will paint every variety of fowl in the area and present the pictures to Amsel, who will give the paintings to the museum.
