About the Item
Signed lower right, 'Tommy G Thompson' (American, born 1948), titled, 'Shadows on a Shrimp Pink House, 822 & 824 Bourbon St. New Orleans' and dated 1977. A fine and original watercolor by this legendary painter of the New Orleans jazz scene and street life.
Tommy Thompson first worked as a commercial artist in San Antonio, Texas before beginning his career as a full-time fine artist in New Orleans in 1971. Thompson lived and worked in New Orleans' French Quarter art colony for almost twenty years producing art of the historic Jackson Square district. He currently lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas. We are pleased to offer a vibrant early work from the artist's New Orleans period.
