"La Dolce Vita" by American artist Ronald Ahlstrom (1922 - 2012) is an abstract mixed media collage on canvas board created sometime in the 90's. It is a geometric piece with a multitude of juxtaposed colored paper from magazines and newspapers painted over with acrylic paint. Signature and stamp on lower right.
An adept and sensitive painter, Ahlstrom's most personal work is as an abstract expressionist collage maker. Using strips of paper, sometimes weathered and beaten into rough hewn surfaces, he creates immaculately layered, lively, gestural compositions. Ahlstrom exhibited his artwork nationally, including shows at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, among others.

Ronald Ahlstrom was an American abstract artist, born in 1922. An adept and sensitive painter, his most personal work is as an abstract expressionist collage maker. Using strips of paper, sometimes weathered and beaten into rough-hewn surfaces, he creates immaculately layered, lively and gestural compositions. He has exhibited his artwork nationally, including shows at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, in Washington, DC, among others.
