African Butterfly Woman - Vintage Collage Made with Real Butterflies - 1950s

About the Item

Image dimensions: 34.5 x 2 x 21.5 cm. African Butterfly Woman is an original collage realized in France in the middle of the XX Century. Original "Papillon Collage" realized with real butterflies on cardboard. Passepartout is included (cm 47 x 34). Wood frame is included (cm 51 x 38). Excellent conditions. Very beautiful and particular collage realized with several real butterflies. This "Papillon Collage" represents the silhouette of an African female figure in profile carrying a basket on her head. The butterfly specimens are all different each other and lend themselves very well to a representation of this type. The wings are colorful and form a simple but very interesting and lively composition.
