This is a Confidential Autograph Letter by Stanislao Lepri to the Cuntess Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt.
Rome, March 3rd. In Italian. Signed.
Excellent condition: As good as New.
The Italian surrealist painter reveals his emotional state after his mother's death to the Countess and Patron of arts, friendly called "Mimi".
Collect or present this unique piece of the Spanish artist, as if it was a holy relic!
Stanislao Lèpri (1905 - 1980)
The Italian surrealist painter, Stanislao Lepri was born in the house of " Lepri marquis of rota" Member of the Roman nobility, and was the Italian consul for the Principality of Monaco. In 1943 Lèpri was called back to Rome. In 1946 he went back in Paris and Lèpri abandoned his diplomatic career to become a painter.
Lèpri was also a theatre scenographer and illustrator, among other he did the scenes for Voyage aux états de la Lune by Cyrano de Bergerac and in 1950 the costumes for L'Armida in Florence for the Maggio Fiorentino.
Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971)
Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel, and Aldo Palazzeschi!
