"The green and blue hues give a peaceful and comforting feeling to this piece," says artist Janet Hamilton. Janet's ongoing Stripes collection is a heavily textured, mixed media take on the abstract landscape. Her process involves stacking oil paint carefully into lines using knives, then blending, adding, and repositioning the paint around collaged paper and other media.

Janet Hamilton is an abstract expressionist who creates heavily-textured and multi-layered paintings. She is an Illinois-based artist whose studio space is a converted library complete with stained glass windows, a balcony and fireplace.
