*Originally from India, artist Neha Vedpathak has been a resident artist at Skopelos Foundation for the Arts in Greece, Bharat Bhavan Graphic Studio, India, Spiro Arts in Park City,Utah, the prestigious Anderson Ranch Art Center in Aspen, Colorado and at CAMAC, France. She has had featured exhibitions in the Czech Republic, India, United States, Canada, France and Greece. Vedpathak's vocabulary is simple, minimal and often personal. She continuously experiments with techniques and materials to deepen her understanding of herself and the world around her. Vedpathak uses drawings/paintings/installations and sculptures as means of expression and interaction with her surroundings. For Vedpathak the moment she realized she had gone from being an ''Indian artist'' to an ''Indian artist living abroad'' was a pivotal point in her artistic journey. This led to seeing old methods and memories in a new light. Even though Vedpathak addresses contemporary spaces there is a certain meditative and ritualistic quality to the work. Her sensitive and inventive approach to materials have lead her find a distinct voice through her practice. Vedpathak had a major solo exhibit at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery in August 2013 and currently is working towards her solo show at Firecat Projects in Chicago IL. She now maintains a studio in Tempe, Arizona.
