About the Item

Minimal linear abstract painting in a contemporary style. The work is signed and dated by the artist in the bottom corner and on the back of the canvas. The piece is framed in a gold leaf frame. Dimensions without Frame: H 47 in x W 39 in x D 1 in. Artist Biography: Nelda Gilliam paints, draws and does small sculptures and installations. She was born in a small Texas town and studied fine art at the University of Houston, Houston, Texas and the Alfred C. Glassell School of Art in Houston, Texas. In 1993 she moved to Saudi Arabia, making art with the limited supplies she could find. She moved to Dubai in 1998, once again relying on what she could find in the local markets and bazaars to continue to create. She currently serves as the Director of Gallery 76 at the Dubai International Art Center and serves as a Board Member.
