About the Item

Little Bear is a traditional Landscape painting by Harold Skene (1883-1978). The mid 20th century painting depicts a brown or black bear crossing on a log over a stream with a Lake, trees, rocky mountains with a golden glow of sunlight and blue sky in the background. Skene was known to paint the Tetons, Yellowstone Park and the mountains of Colorado. Painted to Oil paint on board in colors of golden yellow, blue, green, brown and white. Presented in a custom gold-toned frame, outer dimensions measure 29 ½ x 35 ½ x ¾ inches. Image size is 24 ¼ x 30 inches. About Harold Vincent Skene (1883-1978) A native of Massachusetts, Harold Vincent Skene graduated from Harvard University School of Architecture in 1906. After relocating to Colorado, he studied at the Denver Art Academy, the Broadmoor Art Academy and served as an assistant to Allen Tupper True.
