About the Item
The Grouse Shoot, 19th century Gun shooting Grouse with Gun dogs and hilly landscape
Oil on Canvas on original stretchers, housed in its original bronzed frame.
This is a very special oil painting and quite a rare one too. It is not often you can find 19th century shooting scenes, especially showing the action!
This chap is obviously a "crack" shot as he has hit the last bird and it will be hitting the ground shortly!
I love the detail in this picture, if you look closely you can see the smoke on the grouse as he takes the hit and pushed into the background on the right hand side is the groomsman. A lovely evocative painting that is well balanced and has been cleaned and the original frame restored.

Once something has caught my eye and I’ve heard the “perfect” click, it’s like a photograph has been taken in my mind’s eye. I only have a few days of clarity with that image. I have to start the painting quickly or else it will be gone and I will lose that image forever.” Artist: ROBERT KENNETH WHITE...Category
