Trip Park
Trip Park, "Hippie Flies", Whimsical Butterfly Floral Oil Painting on Canvas

2020

About the Item

Trip Park's "Hippie Flies" is a 24x24 oil painting on canvas of whimsical colorful butterflies surrounded by flower branches on a pale blue background with orange underpainting. The butterflies are all different colors including orange, blue, and yellow. About the artist: Trip has taken a very crooked, creative path on his way to finding paint and canvas. He began in advertising as an art director with agencies like Leo Burnett & Saatchi & Saatchi, then stumbled into children's books and then fell into editorial cartoons. His love for animation brought him to character design on some animated features with Blue Sky Studios, but it wasn't until his wife asked him to paint for her retail interior design shop walls that his new obsession took over completely. Painting (on average) at least one piece a day he came to realize, like every other career path, you only get better by doing (and doing and doing).
