Arthur Trevor HADDON
1864 - 1941
An excellent example of Haddon's work in its original frame. His finest pieces were painted during the time when he was living in Spain. Often they illustrated the way of Spanish life and the best ones were scenes within towns with figures portraying the hustle and bustle.

Portrait and genre painter, and author. He studied at the Slade School (3year scholarship 1883) he was awarded the landscape prize and painting from life 1885. He went to Spain for a year and came back and studied at the Herkomer School, Bushey Herts and was in Rome from 1896 – 1897. He became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1896

Arthur Trevor Haddon
Arthur Trevor Haddon was a successful painter and watercolorist working in the latter 19th and first half of the 20th century. He is known for his depictions of warm Mediterranean locales, especially Spain and Italy. Haddon was also a renowned Orientalist, acclaimed for his portrayals of the Middle East and North Africa.
