Chattrapati Dutta is one of the leading contemporary artist of Bengal and currently serving as the Principal of the prestigious college Govt. College of Arts, Kolkata .
Much lauded Indian Contemporary artist, Chattrapati Dutta's works often talk about serious issues in a surreal and satorical ways. With puns in his work, he often discusses important social issues with an ardent humor.
Here his pun is perhaps at the political parties, each unstoppable in front of the mic, feeling powerful and ready to talk their way; realizing little that most are mere puppets who are being driven by someone.
Chhatrapati Dutta works are deeply rooted in academia and incorporate ideas of psychoanalysis through his works. His works present a juxtaposition of ideas rendered in a gyrating mass of collage. He deals extensively with memory through his works. The layers of the human mind are explored in his paintings. He has an eclectic manner of handling various mediums.

About the Artist & his work :
Born : 1964, Kolkata.
Education :
1987 – Bachelor in Visual Arts from the Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata.
1988 – Post-graduation from University of Athens, Greece.
He completed his Masters in Fine Arts from Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. Soon Dutta mastered the art of painting on the reverse side.
