About the Item
Beautiful original oil on canvas painting by the French artist, Francois Claver. The painting depicts the iconic La Madeleine in Paris with the flower sellers in the foreground. Signed lower left. Circa 1960. Condition is excellent. There are two framing options available. The first is the original frame which has a grey wash over wood with a wide linen liner and gold leaf inner filet. The linen liner has brownish toning which is consistent with age. Overall framed measurements are 27.25 by 31.5 inches. This frame is in very fine original condition. The second option is a contemporary gold leaf custom gallery frame which measures 26.25 by 30 inches overall.
Francois Claver was a Paris born artist who was born in 1918. He studied at the Beaux Arts in Paris and traveled painting throughout Europe. He is known for his paintings of the landmarks of Paris Le F
