About the Item
Emergence of Woman The Cosmic Dance A Visionary Figurative in Acrylic
Flowing and stylized figurative work by Visionary artist Kimberlee Kuwica (American, b. 1967). From GAIA: "As the prevalence of gods and goddesses in the 19th and 20th centuries faded away, so did history books’ tales of female pharaohs, women scientists and amazon warriors. History is kept by the victors—and the victors are most often men. This left a void in collective consciousness and Gaia was relegated to mythology alone. With the convergence of feminism in the 1970s, all that changed when a groundbreaking pro-female establishment was founded, providing new understanding of how our planet operates."
Here Kimberlee Kuwica created a representation of the emergence of Humans from the core of GAIA, Mother Earth. Two female figures enter into a light portal, behind which are figures of GAIA (Earth as Mother and Woman) who opens the entrance to the Earth Plane for the two women walking into the light and physical plane. There are roots and transparent rock, earth and light and fire illuminates. The color palette of this piece is soft and fluid - various shades of blue, teal, purple, red and white.
