About the Item
This painting's loose brush strokes with splashes of red, yellow and green beautifully capture the architecture and nature of the citadel park in Barcelona. The Parc de la Ciutadella is very idyllic and probably the greenest oasis in the megacity of Barcelona. It invites you to relax, to rebound and to go for long walks, as well as for a picnic. You can also use a rowing boat on the lake.

Keiko Ogawa was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1974. While traveling the world, she met a well known Catalan painter who would become her husband and they settled in his hometown of Barcelona, Spain. The two artists share their studios on the 1st floor of a loft building just a few blocks from Antonio Gaudi's, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. They live on the floors above the studio. Keiko's paintings capture architectural spaces sometimes inhabited by figures. The works look to be painted quickly and with confidence. But, while her Her dynamic use of paint might seem to contrast the contemplative and solitary subjects in her work, it instead has the effect of drawing even more focus to the intense restraint in her subjects.
