Pastel Clouds Over Folly Beach, Original Contemporary Landscape Painting 20" x 20" x 0.75" (HxWxD) Oil on Canvas Hand-signed by the artist. An abstract impressionist landscape painting by artist April Moffatt, this square format composition boasts a beautiful pastel color palette of blue, orange, and pink. A striking sunrise glows a peachy orange over the ocean's horizon line. This work could be considered a skyscape as the cloud-laden sky encompasses most of the canvas. Loose brushstrokes and vibrant paint breathe work into the artwork as well the viewer, exuding a calming and uplifting effect. Artist Commentary: Original oil painting of the sunset making pastel colors light up the clouds over Folly beach in Charleston, South Carolina. Soft colors and impasto and impressionistic brushstrokes give this painting a dreamy quality to it. About the Artist: April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
