Christopher Willett
"Mill Along The Creek" Bucks County Twilight Snow Scene Landscape Oil Painting

20th Century

About the Item

Impressionist winter pastoral scene of a quaint snow covered home by the Mill Along Neshaminy Creek in Bucks County, PA. Willett has portrayed this charming scene in a most intimate, yet energetic way, and has packed much feeling into this miniature work. It is almost as if we are there in the wintry night, bringing a beautiful feeling of nostalgia. Christopher is known for capturing the beauty and simplicity of an earlier time of the 20th Century; old New York, families working together, villages and farms and friends taking walks together. Many are depicted in recognizable historical settings and this piece is an excellent example of this as he captures a snow-filled historic setting of Tinicum with the calm, endearing charm of a snowy evening and wood burning fireplace. Christopher engages his audience with the quick use of brushwork and great attention to picking up the energy passionately of his subjects. This piece is signed lower right and it comes housed in a gold tone wood carved frame with hanging hardware on verso ready to be displayed.
