Josep Navarro Vives (Castelsarrasin, France 1931) Spanish painter from Barcelona belonging to the generation of the 50s. He studied at the Barcelona School of Arts and Crafts in the mid-40s. Later he completed his academic training in Paris and London, a fact that provided him with contact with the postwar avant-garde movements. He worked within matter informalism, explored in the field of geometric abstraction and kineticism as part of the MENTE Working Group. Years later he returned to the world of figuration. During the last few years, the creation of Josep Navarro continues to gravitate between abstraction and figuration.
