A gorgeous mid century American Impressionist landscape of the Sacramento River flowing through the vibrant forest as the seasons change by California artist Rhoda Murr (American, 20th Century). Signed and dated "Rhoda Murr '66" lower left and titled "Sacramento River" on verso. Displayed in a rustic wood frame. Image, 24"H x 30"L.
Rhoda Murr was an active artist in Red Bluff, California, where she resided. Rhoda was primarily known for her still life and landscape oil paintings, which she started painting at a young age. Murr was an active member of the Red Bluff Art Association, as well as treasurer. Murrs paintings have been displayed throughout California, particularly the Tehama Totem Fair, where she won the best show award for fine arts. Murrs paintings have also been displayed in numerous galleries including the Paint Brush Gallery in Saratoga, California, and published in the Red Bluff Newspaper.
