Sian McGill
Sian McGill was born on St.David’s Day 1973 in Pontypool, South Wales. After gaining a degree in English at Swansea University, she returned to a childhood love of art, pursuing this alongside bringing up her young family. Her painting soon became her passion and has now become a full-time occupation. She regularly exhibits at galleries in Wales and Cornwall and she has had her work selected for the Royal Cambrian Academy. Much of her inspiration comes directly from the places where she loves to spend time, outdoors enjoying the coastline and mountains of Wales. The paintings are a response to the landscape, an attempt to capture something of the experience and the energy of a place that how it feels to be there on that day. An expressive and intuitive painter, she works mostly with a palette knife but also paints with brushes or fingers or whatever else comes to hand to get the desired effect. She enjoys experimenting with mark-making, color and texture to create a variety of effects and this often leads to a degree of unpredictability, allowing the paintings to emerge almost by themselves.

- Weathered Meadow - Vibrant Figurative Landscape / Acrylic Paint on CanvasBy Lorna Holdcroft-KirinLocated in London, GBMy recent paintings explore the beauty of our stunning landscape and coastline. Colour, of course has always been central to my work and is what really moves me. The fantastic array of hues found hidden in the landscape and in the water are gripping and I love to think of pigments to best describe them as I pass by and then explore these back in the studio. I’m drawn to the wonderfully organic forms and textures that nature provides too, together with the juxtaposition of human intervention, tracks...Category
