About the Item

Vimba Voldemars ( 1904 St. Petersburg – 1985 Riga, Latvia) He began his artistic education at the St Petersburg’s Central technical drawing school. From 1923 to 1933 completed Figurative master class at the Latvian Art Academy under guidance by G. Eliass with diploma work “An open –air dance”. Artist took part at the exhibitions since 1928. He was very talented battle painter, and depicted mainly historical sights as well as the folklore theme. He worked as an art teacher at the Latvian art schools and the Latvian Art Academy, where he was a senior teacher at the drawing department. Artist painted some monumental paintings with A. Zviedris and made stained – glass window with E. Cesnieks and E. Treilons. Solo exhibitions: Salaspils, Sigulda and Riga at 1984.
