"Salinas Valley Farm" - Fauvist Landscape in Oil on Artist's Board
Bright and saturated landscape by Will H. Light (American, 1926-2004). The viewer stands at the edge of a farm, looking out over rows of red, yellow, and green fields. In the distance, on the ridge, there are several buildings with white walls and red roofs among tall trees. Monterey artist and painting watercolors and oils. lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 48 years. Attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville and Creighton University in Omaha NE., he received his M.D. from Creighton Medical School in 1952. Following service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Korea and Hawaii, he practiced Family Medicine in Pacific Grove from 1956 to 1988.
Signed and dated "Will Light 91" in the lower right corner.
