About the Item
Karoline Kroiß (1975), born in Austria, mainly paints realistic female figures with acrylic paint on paper or canvas.
The women in her work seem to be lost in thought, serene scenes enhanced by the neutral background. We see these women en profile, sometimes even only a bare back. The hair is tucked up loosely or casually hanging over the shoulders. Since the face is not visible, it makes it easier for the viewer to identify with these women.
In this warm painting titled ''Just have a look'' a girl in a knitted sweater is depicted on a dark brown background. She is surrounded by two golden dots, a poetic shimmer in dark times. In every moment, good or bad, you will find something positive. You just have to look.
With her work, Karoline wants to invite the viewer to take a break and enjoy everything that makes life beautiful.
Karoline lives and works in Berlin where she also obtained her master’s from the University of the Arts.
