A delightful Victorian portrait of an elderly woman in a darkened interior. She wears a laced cap that attaches under the chin and looks down at the bowl of seashells and book infront of her. The artist brings the viewer's eye to the centre of the composition to the woman's gentle expression, highlighted in natural lightening against the rich background. Unsigned. On canvas.
