A Pleasing Bloom-original hyper realism still life painting-contemporary Art

2024

About the Item

"A Pleasing Bloom" by Colin Wilson, a captivating still life masterpiece that brings the essence of nature to life. This original oil painting, skillfully rendered on board, showcases Wilson's mastery in contemporary realism, inviting viewers to savor the beauty of simplicity. At the heart of the composition, three luscious plums take center stage, their rich, velvety hues of pink exuding a sensuous allure. Each plum is meticulously painted, capturing the subtle variations in color and texture, making them almost palpable. The play of light on the plums creates a dynamic interplay of shadows and highlights, adding depth and dimension to the scene. The plums rest upon a bed of leaves, their verdant greens providing a harmonious contrast to the vibrant pinks. The leaves, delicately detailed with veins and subtle variations in color, contribute to the overall realism of the piece. Positioned on a dark 3D boxed background, the composition takes on a sculptural quality, creating a mesmerizing effect that draws the viewer into the artwork. The color scheme of pinks against the dark background enhances the dramatic impact of the painting. The deep, mysterious blacks create a visually striking contrast, allowing the plums to radiate with a captivating intensity. The use of the 3D boxed background adds an intriguing element, making the entire composition appear tactile and immersive. This exquisite piece is tastefully framed in a sleek black frame, adding a touch of sophistication to the artwork. Colin Wilson's signature graces the corner, a testament to the artist's commitment to his craft. "A Pleasing Bloom" is not just a painting; it's an experience—a celebration of nature's bounty captured in a contemporary masterpiece. For those seeking to bring this mesmerizing artwork into their lives, "A Pleasing Bloom" is currently on display and available for purchase at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea and online. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, inviting the timeless beauty of nature into your home. Artist Biography: Born in Falkirk in 1988 and originally from Linlithgow, Colin Wilson now lives and works in Edinburgh. Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2010, Wilson has been hailed as one to watch after being chosen to exhibit in the Royal Scottish Academy’s ‘New Contemporaries’ exhibition in 2011. Though he works primarily within the realm of photorealism, Colin carefully chooses subjects and compositions that push the boundaries of the style and redefine the parameters of contemporary still life. Demonstrating vision, mastery and dexterity well beyond his years, Colin is one of the most exciting young artists to emerge in the UK’s still life market in recent years. In his years as an artist, he has explored multiple genres, including portraiture, collage and landscape painting—but it is still life that has captured and held his focus. Many of his still lifes explore the interaction of visual planes and the combination of two conflicting styles of painting: abstract and realism. It is this ability to so ingenuously transcend traditional techniques that has allowed Colin to establish such a distinctive, engaging style worthy of the 21st century. Artist Colin Wilson’s original work is now sought after by collectors throughout the world and, as well as at the Red Rag Gallery in the Stow on the Wold, he exhibits at a number of leading contemporary art galleries throughout the UK. “Painting photo realism still lifes – with a contemporary twist – has always been my favourite subject matter. I am so delighted to see the response for my latest work. Some of my pieces really push the boundaries for this style of work, and the Edinburgh gin and tonic painting and raspberry fizz are great examples of my contemporary approach to this more traditional format and subject matter”. – Colin Wilson
