Andreas H. Bitesnich
The Austrian photographer and filmmaker Andreas H. Bitesnich does not pursue subtlety. In his main bodies of work — erotic nudes, cityscapes and travel shots, in addition to a sizable portfolio of advertising stills, music videos and television commercials — he tends to play up moments of confrontation and aggressive seduction, whether through shouting street signs or daring poses.
Bitesnich, born in Vienna in 1964, initially attracted attention with his high-drama female nudes; his first volume of them, 1998’s NUDES, won the Kodak Photography Book Award. He has produced several more such books over the past two decades, including WOMAN (2001), POLANUDE (2006) and MORE NUDES (2007).
Some of these works reveal (or conceal) erogenous zones with clever studio lighting, while others use textured backdrops like desert dunes and leather sofas to emphasize exposed skin.
Still others capture elaborately choreographed couples with interlaced limbs (as in Yvonne & Tom) — quasi-abstractions that seem to nod to Robert Mapplethorpe and George Platt Lynes.
Bitesnich is also known for a multipart black-and-white series titled “Deeper Shades,” in which he ventures outside the controlled environment of the studio and explores major cities, including Vienna, Berlin, Pais and New York. The images are stark and frequently ominous, with their liberal use of silhouettes and evocations of the dangers of the urban environment; in a 2011 picture from “Deeper Shades #01 New York,” a sign reading WET PAINT has been suggestively cropped (the work is titled WET PAIN).
Bitesnich has a slightly more sentimental side, too, one that’s best expressed in his travel photographs, taken in such countries as Cambodia, Cuba and Kenya. In this part of his oeuvre, famous sites seen from a distance (the Statue of Liberty, Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal, Burj Khalifa) alternate with close-up portraits of locals: a deeply wrinkled 104-year-old woman staring straight into the camera in Cairo, a young man getting a shave at a barber shop in Phnom Penh.
A new hardcover edition of his 2011 book India (teNeues) includes 175 photographs shot throughout that country — in color, black and white, and nostalgia-inducing sepia — that delight in different, if equally obvious, textures; the crepey folds of an elephant’s trunk, the mud puddles on the streets of Varanasi, the shimmering scales around the neck of a snake charmer.
In the foreword, Bitesnich writes, “India is eternally in motion — it moves sideways, backwards, rises higher, and moves forward all at once. India is where the past meets the future; time seems to pass by its own strange rules here.” Admirers of the photographer’s celebrated nudes may also appreciate his desire to broaden his horizons.

High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. 'The Lodge at Vail' centers around the famous model Alessandra Ambrosio standing next to a 1956 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing. A wolf is sticking its head out the car's door. The Model is wearing a 70s-inspired fur coat and boots and holding a ski set. An ode to the lodge's beginnings is in the background. The Lodge at Vail was the first proper hotel to operate in a resort that arrived at the Colorado ski party exceptionally late. The first stones of Vail were laid in 1962, making it the new kid on the block...Category

- Kate Moss playing Trivial Pursuit - fine art photography, 1993By Arthur ElgortLocated in Vienna, ATAll prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. With this image, Arthur Elgort captured the famous Kate Moss away from the rockstar lifestyle she was usually seen pursuing. Here, she sits at a table, half-empty glasses and a single candle in front of her. She is wearing a cozy sweater and no makeup, and her hair is in a bun. In one hand, she is holding a cigarette; with the other, she is grabbing playing cards out of a well-used and worn trivial pursuit Box. The grainy black and white image has a cozy and familiar feel as if the viewer were sitting at the table with Kate Moss herself. One can almost hear soft piano music and happy laughter in the background of an intimate and happy meeting between friends. Claudia Schiffer causing a mob in Rome, Kate Moss dancing on the tables in Paris...Category

- Cindy's Shotgun WeddingBy David YarrowLocated in Denver, CODavid Yarrow has built an unrivaled reputation for capturing the beauty of the planet’s remote landscapes, cultures and endangered animals. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966, he is now an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer and Europe’s best selling wildlife photographer. "You don't get a second chance to work withCindy Crawford, so there was obviously a little pressure. I took her to a place I know well -the ghost town of Nevada City,Montana as I hoped familiarity with the light and the angles would help me. I needed as many variables under my control as possible on an ambitious story line. The one thing we could not manage or predict was the weather and last week it was cold.If Cindy was outside her comfort zone with the temperatures so low and a big wolf as a companion, she did not flinch. She is professional, stoic and game and it was an honour to work with a true American idol. She sets a high bar on so many levels. It was a big effort for her to fly from LA to hang out with me and my team whom she had never met before and then work in freezing temperatures with some big wolves. She never complained and took no fee at all. Quite amazing.Proceeds from the sales of this image -Cindy’s Shotgun Wedding...Category
