ABOUT THIS PIECE: This vintage surf photograph by Grant Rohloff was taken in Waimea Bay, Hawaii. Please note that these are exclusive archival photographs from the Rohloff estate as reflected in the prices. Grant Rohloff was a legendary photographer and filmmaker of classic surf culture. Born in Hollywood, Rohloff started surfing as a teenager in the early 1950s, and by the end of the decade, had started filming Southern California surfers. To him, filmmaking and surfing were so much more than a vocation; they were a way of life. This piece is part of the curated Beach House and Surf Collection. ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Coming of age during the golden age of surf culture and Hollywood, Grant Rohloff began photographing waves almost as soon as he started surfing them. Using classic black and white film, Rohloff documented a blissful lifestyle of sun, sand, and surf. Timeless and masterful, Rohloff's photographs are stunningly awesome in showcasing the strengths of sea and surfer alike. PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship unframed prints internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.
