About the Item
'May 4, 2015' 2015 by photographer Susan Wides. Chromogenic print, Ed. of 7. 36 x 30 in. C-print of Park Avenue from the 'Deep Woods' series. Colors in pink, browns, and whites.
NY photographer, Susan Wides, is best known for her color photographs of the urban built environment of NYC as well as scenic views and iconic places of the Hudson Valley countryside where she maintains a studio. Susan's photographs convey the experience not merely of being in a place, but of connecting to that place on many levels of consciousness. She creates a unique visualization of a site using a language of the lens both with her approach to the subjects of her investigations and the methods of selective focus she has innovated and evolved since the 1980's.
Wides's work has been exhibited widely throughout the US and Europe. Solo exhibitions include The Center for Creative Photography, Arizona; The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, New Paltz; Madelyn Jordon Fine Art, Scarsdale; Group exhibitions include the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; The High Museum of Art, and The Municipal Art Society.
