About the Item
Josep Maria Riera i Aragó (Barcelona, 1954), is a Spanish plastic artist.
He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. Throughout his career he has dedicated himself to sculpture, painting and graphic work.
Riera i Aragó recreates in his work a world of machines and contraptions (zeppelins, airplanes and submarines).
Apart from bronze, he uses iron, materials with which he makes his planes or submarines float in a magical atmosphere.
He has made individual and collective exhibitions and is present in different museum collections. He is also the author of large sculptures for public spaces.
