From Jacques Arago's 'Promenade autour du monde, pendant les annees 1817, 1818, 1819 et 1820, sur les corvettes du roi L'Uranie et La Physicienne, commandees par M. Freycinet.' Jacques Arago, watercolourist and marine draughtsman, was born in Estagel, near Perpignan, France. He, Taunay and Pellion were the artists and draughtsmen employed on Louis de Freycinet's officially-sponsored French expedition around the world aboard the Uranie which visited Australia from 1819-1819. 270mm by 365mm (sheet)
