About the Item

Ann Tanksley is an African American artist who was born in 1934. She studied at Carnegie Mellon as well as the Arts Students League and New School for Social Research. This monotype etching comes from her most important series of work based on the writings of Zora Neale Hurston. It is pencil signed and dated 1989 and lettered G. There were a very limited number of these made and this is a rare opportunity to purchase one as they do not seem to come up on the open market. It is unframed. The image measures 14 inches high by 11 inches wide. The paper measures 19 3/4 inches high by 15 wide.
