William Rose was a hugely successful film and poster artist in the 1930s and 40s. This (Cubist Figure) seems to be an artist at work. Her hands are busy with a project on the surface in front of her, one that looks like part of an easel or work table. It is a lithograph, possibly made at the Art Students League, NYC, and is signed in pencil. It is a perfect mid-century tour-de-force of patterns and shapes!
