About the Item

Windsor Castle by HM King Charles III - Hand Signed Limited Edition Lithograph. Belgravia Gallery has been honoured to be associated with the artworks of His Majesty for over 25 years. Anna Hunter, the gallery owner, wrote a handwritten letter to the (then) Prince asking him if he would consider making signed lithographs from his beautiful watercolours which could be sold in aid of his charities. The gallery subsequently worked with the Prince for over 10 years publishing some 18 different editions and raising over £ 4 million for the Prince’s Charitable Foundation. Lithographs were made from His Majesty's original watercolours under the guidance of Stanley Jones – a celebrated printmaker who had previously worked with Henry Moore for 30 years, and with Elizabeth Frink, David Hockney and others. Each one is hand-signed. “The third lithograph to be produced was the very dramatic Windsor Castle which was painted in winter, just before a thunderstorm. The sky had turned black and the Prince told me that he raced outside to try to capture the dramatic shafts of sunlight on the Castle walls before the deluge. He didn’t finish the tree on the right and told me that he was afraid the composition would be spoiled if he went back to work on it indoors.” Anna Hunter Director of Belgravia Gallery This image was shown all around the world to excellent reviews. Windsor Castle has also been the location for the 2018 wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank.
