About the Item
Original ceramic sculpture by Noe Kuremoto.
Noe Kuremoto is a Japanese ceramic artist based in Hackney, east London. She creates one-off sculptural vases from clay, inspired by the natural world and memories of childhood.
Drawing influence from her Japanese heritage and symbolism from folklore, Noe’s Tōrō series explores the elegant sculptural forms of traditional lanterns through clay.
“My sculptures tend to have these organic shapes that honour the wilderness. I adore the way we appreciate nature in Japan. We believe spirits are everywhere, especially in nature – from the mountains to the ocean and the sky.”
