Renato Foti
Black & White Mesh

2018

About the Item

Renato Foti received his BFA from the University of Western Ontario in 1986, continued to become an engineer, and completed the renowned Pilchuck Glass School Program. His current work focuses on fused & slumped glass wall sculptures that can be hung in a variety of venues. These large scale wall creations are composed of fused glass made out of a variety of colours segments, lending a strong sense of balance and harmony to the space. Renato's pieces have exhibited at various Galleries as well as the Interior Design Show in Toronto and Art Expo in NYC. Custom hardware and screws are included with the piece. About the Artist: "Some would call me a Glass artist, but that's only a medium. I love colour, precious objects of many materials and mixing things up. Glass would be considered one of my main materials. I am known for my "RetroMesh" pieces but they have grown to become more complex and larger in size over the past 30 years".

These microscopic algae capture sunlight and convert it into energy just like plants to provide essential nutrients to the corals. When under stress, such as high temperature caused by global warming of the oceans and seas, they will die and leave their host, a process known as bleaching. Alex Anagnostou...
