"Rase Alley" Large Colorful Graffiti Tagged Wood Bench

2015

About the Item

Fun, unique, one-of-a-kind graffiti-tagged wood bench. Colorful graffiti markings cover the top and underside of the wood seat. Material: Spray paint, paint pens, and polyurethane on wood with steel legs Size: 68 x 11 x 16.5 in (L x W x H) Street culture and graffiti are well known for being provocative, appealing, bold, and uncompromising. Initially used by gangs to mark their territory in urban areas, graffiti has become a rich medium for unapologetically expressing ideas and statements. Graffiti represents a free art form that rebels against but now compliments domestic conventional forms. This unique, one-of-a-kind bench was tagged by a group of graffiti artists from Northern California who are more than artistic outlaws. They think outside the canvas. Their art is unsanctioned and boundless in its range. The furnishing transforms into a focal design point in a defined interior space. It reveals incredible imagination, color, and composition but remains provocative—an intriguing conversation piece for any design enthusiast! • 'Untitled Assemblage #S3-23', by John Wolfe, Mixed Media Abstract Sculpture
    Located in Oklahoma City, OK
John Wolfe's Mixed Media Abstract Sculpture, "Untitled Assemblage #S 3-23" brings together wood, steel, ceramic elements, and acrylic paint. The warm colors of the wood and painted ceramic elements soften the feel of the rectilinear arrangement. The shallow depth of the work gives the sculpture a kind of "drawing" quality while the shadows it casts lend a more expansive feel. The heavy, dark wood base anchors all aspects of the work in place. This work is the perfect tabletop piece. It's large enough to command attention, but also subtle in its open framework arrangement. John Wolfe was born in Vernon...
