About the Item

Bruno Innocenti was a pupil of Libero Andreotti and, afterwards, he became his assistant. When Andreotti died, Innocenti took his place as Sculpture teacher at the Art Institute of Florence. Between the 1925 and the 1949 he held a lot of monographic exhibitions in several Italian and foreign cities (for example, he had an entire room only for him at the Venice Biennale in the 1938. In the 1946, while he was living in America, he exhibited at the Architectural League and, few years later, took part in a collective exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum). From the 1950s he stopped exhibiting and entirely dedicated to teaching and to his to his private artistic production, also receiving important monumental public commission in Milan, Pisa, Florence and Maratea. He was also a life member of the Academy of Drawings in Florence. The plaster cast sculpture, h. 44 cm, “Potrait of a Albertina” 1959, with the Inventory number 237, is a authentic work of Bruno Innocenti (Florence, 1906-1986), as reported in the Bruno Innocenti’archive and as it’s confirmed by the authentication of the professor Marco Fagioli.
