Art Deco Gilt Bronze Girl Signed ‘Jorel’, and mounted on it’s original Belgium portoro marble base. The stylish young lady dressed in harem pants, the height of fashion at the time, inspired by the influence of the Middle East. Elegantly designed to sit on the marble base with her legs crossed over the side of the base. Condition is very good with just a little age related wear to the bronze gilt finish. Jorel ( French, 1860 ~ 1927) was a sculptor active in Paris. Alfred Jorel became a member of Société des Artistes Francais in 1896 and exhibited at the Society’s salons. Monumental Important Art Deco Silver & Gilt Bronze Goddess G. Lavaroff
By Georges Lavroff
Located in New York City, NY
An exceptionally large and rare French Art Deco original bronze sculpture circa 1927 by a well known artist Georges Lavaroff (1895-1991) It's quite uncommon to find this very large size and notably featuring the silver and parcel gilt finish. The artwork features a majestic female nude, adorned with a stylized cloak in alternating stripes of gold and silver, which showcases a pyramid shape. The Egyptian goddess is depicted as an undraped figure with arms outstretched above her head, holding a crescent moon. She wears a north star headdress that adds to her regal appearance. The cloak is embellished with stars and a comet, and the female figure rests on a bed of stylized clouds. The sculpture is presented on its original black and gold marble base. All of these attributes add to the uniqueness and value of the artwork, making it even more remarkable and sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts. Water bottle shown for scale. Documentation : Les bronzes Art Deco de Georges Lavaroff, sculpteur Russe a Paris 1930 Kastelyn et Mazzucotelli. Georges Lavaroff was born in Sibera in 1895. He studied medicine and painting. After the revolution of 1917 he moved to Moscow and became a member of the Russian artists association where he began to exhibit his work and take part in shows as a member of the Association of artists of Revolutionary Russia. He then worked in France from 1927 until 1935. This period was the richest point of his profession where he produced his most famous works of Art Deco figures...

Alfred Dunhill 1950 West Germany Desk Petrol Mechanical Lighter 12 Inches Ruler
By Alfred Dunhill
Located in Miami, FL
Twelve Inches ruler desk lighter designed by Dunhill. Very unusual and stunning desk petrol lighter, designed by Dunhill back in the 1950. This mechanical lighter has been crafted in West Germany in the shape of a 12 inches ruler, made up in steel with high polished chrome plating. Weight: 262.6 Grams, (168.34 Dwt). Measurements: 327 mm by 39 mm (12.88 x 1.54 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and signed, "Dunhill MADE IN WEST GERMANY". Alfred Dunhill inherited his father’s London saddlery in 1893. Following the increase in motor car ownership, Alfred developed the business to include motoring accessories, which he called ‘Dunhill’s Motorities’. This included goggles, timepieces, picnic sets, and leather coats, and it wasn’t long before the brand became associated with men’s general motoring attire. They opened two shops in Mayfair and had a catalogue of over 1300 items. Between the 1904 and 1905, Dunhill introduced their ‘Windshield Pipe’, to help drivers combat the effect of wind and travel on their ability to smoke. This marked both the end of the ‘motorities’ focus and their entry into the world of smoking ephemera, and they shortly opened their first tobacconist in 1907 on Duke Street. The proximity to several esteemed Private Members Clubs around the Mayfair, St James’ area ensured that the venture was a success. (From Nicholas Wells With Thanks). Literature: Blei-Bottoni Ref-630 (6 Inches) Pp-318 Illustrated. Note: This version was retailed for 20.00 usd, back in the 1950s. It is noted by Blei-Bottoni as hard to find. Collateral: It is accompanied by the designer's presentation green pouch...
