Arthur Trevor Haddon was a successful painter and watercolorist working in the latter 19th and first half of the 20th century. He is known for his depictions of warm Mediterranean locales, especially Spain and Italy. Haddon was also a renowned Orientalist, acclaimed for his portrayals of the Middle East and North Africa.

There is not that much information about Otto Pilny who began his artistic education in Prague. Pilny also lived in Vienna and ended up settling in Zurich. The painting is housed in its original period gilt frame which is in good condition.
Whilst the painting is ready to hang, it does have light craquelure throughout the sky. There are two small patches verso which indicate there has been minor repainting to the top right quartile of the painting.
