Art Deco Pierre D'Avesn Molded Glass Bowl, France
By Pierre D'Avesn
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Original and iconic molded glass bowl; its shape is simple and decisive, cleverly proportioned, the result of intelligent aesthetic reflection in pure Art Dèco style; although it bears no signature (in this type of bowl it happened often) we can say with certainty that it was produced in France between 1930 and 1935 by Pierre D'Avesn, an artist who at that time worked at the Daum glassworks, where he developed an innovative molded glass technique, obtaining pieces of amazing transparency and brilliance like our bowl. Pierre d'Avesn was born in 1901 and initially worked at Rene Lalique for 10 years. During this time, he designed Lalique's famous "Snake" vase and the "Tourbillons" vase, two of "Lalique's" most expensive collectibles...
