Lenard Kester

American, 1913-1997

Lenard Kester is an American artist born in 1917 in New York City. He moved to Los Angeles in 1939 to work with W. Disney and later on focused on his art full time. His work is represented in many private collections throughout the United States. Kester has held 26 one-man exhibitions in museums and art galleries throughout the U.S.A., including the Oakland Museum, Boston Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum, M. H. De Young Museum in San Francisco, Knoedler Galleries in New York, to mention a few. He has participated in all major national exhibitions, receiving over 40 awards for his work.
