Incredible Vintage Jill Richards Black & White Ruffle Body Con Long Sleeve Dress
About the Item
Incredible and sexy vintage JILL RICHARDS black and white bodcon dress. Richards was an actress of the 1940s-1960s, and turned to fashion design. She was the go-to fashion designer of the elite, and starlets of the 1970s-early 1990s. Her designs were sold at Saks 5th Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Martha's, and many other very high-end boutiques internationally. She was known as "Ruffles Richards," as she was known for her ability to expertly add ruffles to a dress, which were mostly done in white, and at the collar. She called this, "The Kitty Foyle look," which was a dark colored dress, with a white collar that was inspired by an outfit Ginger Rogers wore in the 1940 movie of the same name. She said that a white collar reflects the light of the face.
