Vintage Colorful Silk and Metallic Caftan
About the Item
The caftan is a centuries-old garment that has had an international presence. Being a staple garment in the middle-East, northern Africa, and northern Asia, the caftan has been the source of inspiration for countless couture designers due to its superb functionality and its immaculate details imparted by the artisans who originally made them. This vintage silk caftan has been space dyed in soft yet vivid pastel tones of magenta, orange, teal, grey and violet with floral motifs in metallic embroidery throughout. Gold and pink metallic braiding decorates the neck and down centre front, around the hem, and cuffs. Along the centre front, couched cording and rhinestones add additional depth and texture to the caftan. Easy and comfortable to wear, this caftan can be imaginatively styled in multiple ways. It can be worn alone, layered, or even belted to transform it into a contemporary dress.
