Pair Of Carved Wooden Torch Holders

About the Item

Pair of twelve-light candelabra in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, from central Italy and dating back to the 18th century. The use of carved wood is common in 18th-century furniture and objets d'art. The carvings allow you to create complex decorative details, such as acanthus leaves, which add sophistication to the piece. Lacquering and gilding were common techniques for embellishing furniture and objets d'art of this period. The candlesticks are mounted on a lacquered base in shades of Siena yellow and marbling in shades of yellow with gold frames. The presence of twelve lights on each candelabra makes them very impressive and evocative when lit. The shape of the candlesticks is extremely refined, the golden acanthus leaves on each individual arm of the candlestick are very beautiful.
